HK Foreign Currency Reserve at Stable in June

| The total foreign currency reserve assets of US$136.3 billion represent about seven times the currency in circulation or 36% of Hong Kong dollar M3. |

| Including unsettled forward contracts, the foreign currency reserve assets of Hong Kong at the end of June 2007 also stood at US$136.3 billion (end-May 2007: US$136.2 billion). Hong Kong is the world''s ninth largest holder of foreign currency reserves based on the latest published figures, after Mainland China, Japan, Russia, Taiwan, Korea, India, Brazil and Singapore. |

HK Residential Loans Rise by 17.4%

| According to HKMA's monthly survey of residential mortgage lending, new mortgage loans drawn down during June increased by 17.4% to HK$16.4 billion. |
|
| The proportion of new loans approved at more than 2.5% below the best lending rate increased to 90.3% from 85.2% in May, while the proportion of new approvals priced with reference to rates other than the best lending rate or fixed rates decreased to 6.2% from 11.3% over the same period. |

HK Total Assets Advanced in June

| HK total assets of the Exchange Fund amounted to HK$1,256.9 billion on 30 June 2007. |

| At the end of June 2007 the total assets of the Exchange Fund, at HK$1,256.9 billion, were HK$14.7 billion higher than at the end of May 2007. Foreign currency assets increased by HK$6.6 billion and Hong Kong dollar assets increased by HK$8.1 billion. |

HKMA Total Deposits increased 5.6% in June

| On a seasonally adjusted basis, Hong Kong dollar M1 grew by 4.7% in June and by 16.5% from a year earlier. |

| According to statistics published today by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, total deposits with authorized institutions increased by 5.6% in June 2007. Hong Kong dollar and foreign currency deposits rose by 8.5% and 2.1% respectively. |
